Mystery Story

Hello, loyal readers.

For homework at school, we had to read Murder on the Orient Express. It’s a really great book, and I had no idea how it was going to end. Not even a clue.

As follow-up to that, we have to write a mystery story. Mine’s about the murder of a butler at a manor (the butler didn’t do it this time!), and while it seems a kind of solid storyline, I’m finding it incredibly hard to write.

I haven’t got past the first page yet, so that’s bad news. I’m not sure how long I can make this story.

That’s all. I just wanted to share what’s going on. Thanks for reading!

Hi Sam. I read loads of mysteries and those by A. Christie (?) are the ones every other mystery writer tries to emulate. Just decide who killed the butler and why, then you can move on to creating the story as it moves to the other characters and where they were, what they said and if they had a reason for killing the butler. Where was the butler killed, how was he killed? Who was there when he was killed? Was the killer hired to kill him or was it a crime of passion and anger of the moment? Do you kill him off at the start of the story or later? I hope these questions help you. Hugs-Tia Alice
